Lutisone Nasal Spray is a corticosteroid, a medication used to treat inflammation (redness and swelling). Lutisone Nasal Spray is used to relieve symptoms associated with asthma (a condition in which your airways become narrow and swollen, causing difficulty in breathing) and allergic rhinitis (allergic reaction causing sneezing, runny nose, and itchy or watery eyes) in adults and children above 4 years of age. Lutisone Nasal Spray is available in different forms (cream/lotion, nasal spray, and inhaler). Fluticasone propionate works by inhibiting certain cells like mast cells, neutrophils, lymphocytes, and macrophages responsible for causing redness and swelling. Also, it blocks the release of histamine (chemicals causing allergic reactions). Before using Fluticasone propionate, you should inform your doctor if you have heart, kidney, liver, or eye conditions, infections like tuberculosis, or other medical conditions.
Interaction with alcohol is unknown. It is advisable to consult your doctor before consumption.

Fluticasone Propionate belongs to a group of medicines called steroids, also known as corticosteroids.
Fluticasone propionate has anti-inflammatory and vasoconstrictor properties after topical application to the nasal mucosa. The precise mechanism of these actions is unknown, but it may involve a decrease in the number of mediator cells (basophils, leukocytes, and mast cells) at the epithelial level, eosinophils, sensory nerve sensitivity to mechanical stimuli, secretory response to cholinergic receptor stimulation, and fibroblast activity. Other methods could include capillary dilatation and permeability inhibition, lysosomal membrane stabilization, and proteolytic enzyme release prevention.
